Portmarnock AFC

Portmarnock AFC is a North County Dublin soccer football club. The club was founded in late 1980 and was known as Portmarnock Soccer Club at the time. In 1982 the club established a senior team that entered the Athletic Union League. By the mid 1990s Portmarnock AFC had more than 30 teams in the club.

Two players from the club have signed for professional soccer teams in England; Stephen Dawson with Leicester City and Stephen Ward with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Emma Merrigan from our girls set up was capped for the Irish girls Under 16 international football team.

Portmarnock AFC have club facilities in two locations in the Portmarnock area:

Carrickhill has five full size soccer pitches and two seven-a-side Fingal County Council pitches. Changing facilities are available in the nearby Portmarnock Sports and Leisure club premises. These changing facilities include dressing rooms, showers and toilets – including a toilet for the disabled. Usually there is sufficient car parking spaces available on match days.

Paddy’s Hill is the Portmarnock’s private facilities that was opened in May 2002. This facility includes two full size soccer pitches and a modern floodlit all weather training surface. There are four dressing rooms, showers and toilets – including a toilet for the disabled. There are over 70 car spaces available on match days.
