Richmond FC |
| Richmond FC is a County Cork soccer club based in the Waterfall area. The club was established in 1980 and began competing in the West Cork League for the 1980/81 football season. Richmond recruited their footballers from the Waterfall area on the western side of Cork City. Then the club played matches on a soccer pitch provided by Mr. Jim Horgan of Ballymaw. From the 1987-1988 season the soccer club has used a number of pitches in various locations. Richmond FC the second division of the West Cork League Champions 1980/81 season. This was followed up by winning the first division championship the next soccer season. In the 1983/84 season the club was to win a historic treble of the First Division League, the Flor Crowley Cup and the Carling League Cup.
Richmond play their home soccer matches at football pitches at Garranedarragh, Sarsfield Road, at Regional Park in Ballincollig, and at Waterfall. |

Garranedarragh, Sarsfield Road At the Sarsfield Road Roundabout drive up to the driving learner centre and turn right. Follow the road to the corner and turn left, carry on down the hill and you will see the entrance gates. Waterfall Pitch Exit town and proceed towards the University Hospital. At the Bishopstown bar keep left and take the road right heading for Waterfall. At O’Sheas public house in Waterfall take a right right and proceed beneath the bridge. After two miles approx. stay to the left of the Y junction. The soccer pitch is one mile approx. on the right hand. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE CITY SIDE OF THE ENTRANCE AS IT IS A HAZARD TO LOCAL TRAFFIC.Regional Park Ballincollig From Cork City: Travel to the West of the town until you get to the roundabout next to SuperValu/L&N. Take the road to Coachford/Dripsey/Inniscarra. Regional Park is on the right hand side after the Gael Scoil before you go over the bridge. |
