| Mervue United AFC is a Galway soccer football club that was formed in 1960. Mervue currently fields 26 teams at all levels. The club has been highly successful on the soccer pitch winning many trophies down through the years. Amazingly in the period from 1975 to 1982 Mervue United won the Lillis cup every year except for two seasons. Over ten Mervue players have been capped by the Republic of Ireland at various underage levels.
