| Salthill Devon FC is a Galway soccer football club that was formed in 1977. The club has more than 500 members and fields 20 competitive teams at a wide range of age levels. Age groups under 6 to under 10 play in internal small leagues. Members of the club come from west Galway City, Salthill, Knocknacarra and Rahoon in the main.
Salthill Devon FC has had a high level of success of on the soccer pitch and a number of players that have represented the Republic of Ireland at various levels and have played professional football in both Ireland and England. The club motto is Cairdeas tré Spórt and it actively works to encourage long term friendships and camaraderie using soccer as the medium. Salthill Devon also works to develop it’s members educational and cultural experiences through overseas trips. Over the years the soccer club has visited Boston, Aberyswyth, Cologne, Ipswich, Gothenburg and Seville amongst others. |
