Republic of Ireland Senior Football Team Results 2010The first international match played by the Republic of Ireland in 2010 was against mighty Brazil on the 2nd March 2010 at the Emirates Stadium in London. The Brazilians ran out comfortable winners of the encounter scoring two goals without conceding. The match was notable from an Irish perspective for a couple of reasons. Goalkeeper Shay Given, and defender Kevin Kilbane, became joint outright record cap holders for the Republic of Ireland. On the night they both earned their 101st international cap.
