Munster List of Soccer Leagues, Organisations & Associations

Munster province has a rich football tradition and teams from County Cork, Limerick and Waterford have regularly competed in the top flight soccer league in Ireland. Asssociation Football is thriving in every county in the province; Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.

Munster Football Asssociation is affiliated to the FAI. Formed in 1922 and based in Turners Cross in Cork City the MFA admisters and organises soccer across all the counties of Munster. The MFA runs three cup competitions; Lucozade Sport Munster Senior Cup, Lucozade Sport Munster Junior Cup and Lucozade Sport Munster Youths Cup.

Cork AUL – Cork Athletic Union League do not appear to have an official website. The site referenced is a blog maintained by Billy Lyons who has been reporting on Cork soccer since 1978.

West Waterford East Cork League – WWECL was formed in 1972 by Lismore FC who then played in the Waterford League and Youghal FC who played in the Cork AUL. The League became affiliated to the the Munster Football Association in 1999. If you wish to contact the League click on WWECL

Limerick Desmond League – The Limerick Desmond Football League, established in 1955, caters for and promotes Soccer in West Limerick area including the towns of Newcastle West, Abbeyfeale, Adare, Rathkeale, Askeaton, Foynes, Glin and Dromcollogher. To contact the league click on LDL

Tipperary Southern & District League – The TSDL was established in 1977 after the dissolution of the County Tipperary League. The league covers the area from Thurles in mid-Tipperary west into County Limerick and south into County Waterford. Contact details for the TSDL are as follows:
