NDSL IntroductionThe North Dublin Schoolboys/Girls Leagues (NDSL) is based in the Oscar Traynor Coaching and Development Centre in Coolock, Dublin 17. The league was established in 1973 to cater for soccer clubs based on the north side of Dublin.. The primary role of the League is to promote the sport of soccer through the provision of football fixtures and competitions. The NDSL has been very innovative in Irish soccer. The hugely popular small sided games for under 11 year old boys and girls were introduced to Ireland on an organised basis by the NDSL. In 1999 the league established the North Dublin SL Football Academy to improve coaching and playing standards across the League. In 2002 the Colts Division for 7 to 10 year olds was officially launched following a short testing period. The target of the this division is to identify young soccer talent and to promote and improve such talent by enhanced coaching. The Colts Division is now plays an important role in the FAI Emerging Talent Program. The NDSL now boasts almost 300 teams (aged 7 – 11) and in excess of 300 teams (aged 11-18). The League also has over 20 girls and women’s teams. NDSL Member Club MeetingsMeetings for all League member soccer clubs are conducted in the evenings at 8 o’clock in the NDSL Complex in Lucan on the first Monday of each month. On bank holidays NDSL meetings are usually postponed until the following Monday. In general, club meetings are not held in September or January. NDSL Football Divisions
