Newbridge Town FC |
| Newbridge Town FC is a Kildare based soccer football club that competes in the Kildare & District Underage League. The club was formed in 1969 out of the Newbridge Youth Club. The club entered a team into the Counties League Division 2 finishing 4th in the League and winning the Counties Cup in the first season. Tom Shaw was the first Irish underage international produced by Newbridge Town. Shaw was followed by goalkeeper Alan Gough who went on to make his professional career in the League of Ireland, and the Irish League. Following an invitation to join the First Division of the League of Ireland it was decided to invite all interested football parties to a formation meeting for a team that all of Kildare could support. Thus Kildare County was launched.
Newbridge Town has it’s own clubhouse, training facilities, all weather pitches, showers and dressing rooms at Station Road. |

Station Road From Dublin – Take the N7 motorway past Naas and take the exit for Newbridge. On entering Newbridge, cross over Liffey Bridge and proceed up the Main Street. Take the right hand turn at the traffic lights (at the Post Office) for Station Road. Cross the bridge at the train station and the football ground is on the left.From the South – Take the exit from the N7 for the Curragh and proceed into Newbridge. Drive along the main road through the town and take the left turn at the traffic lights (across from the Post Office) for Station Road. Cross the bridge at the train station and the football ground is on the left. |
