2010 First Division Match Results – Airtricity League Series 2

The results for the second series of matches in the Airtricity League of Ireland First Division are detailed below.

Following a lacklustre first half Finn Harps finally defeated Salthill Devon with two goals in the last ten minutes of this First Division tie at Finn Park. Goals form McHugh and second half substitute McGowan decided the tie in favour of the Donegal men.

At Jackman Park Limerick FC suffered 0 – 1 home defeat at the hands of Derry City. Derry grabbed the lead in the 14th minute when David McDaid who guided the ball beyond Limerick keeper David Ryan. Despite intense pressure from Limerick, particularly in the second half, Derry held out to take the full three points back to the Brandywell.

Monaghan United and Longford Town shared the spoils at Kingspan Century Park in a 2 – 2 draw. Two first half goals from Philip Hughes were cancelled out by two late strikes from Fiachra McArdle. McArdle had come on as a first half substitute for Brady.
