Shamrock Rovers FC IntroductionShamrock Rovers FC is a League of Ireland soccer football club based in Tallaght, Dublin 24. The club was established in 1901 in the Ringsend area of Dublin. In the 1920’s Rovers moved to their first ground in Milltown and eventually settled in Glenmalure Park until the late 1980’s. After an extended period, when the club could have been renamed ‘Shamrock Wanderers’, the club came to rest in Tallaght Stadium in 2009. The stadium was built by South Dublin County Council. Rovers nickname is ‘The Hoops’. Shamrock Rovers FC is the most successful club in the history of the League of Ireland. Rovers have won the League title on 15 occasions and were runners-up 13 times. The club was crowned League of Ireland champions for the first time in the 1922/23. This was Rovers debut season in the League. The 1980’s decade was the most successful for the club when Rovers won the title four years in a row under Jim McLaughlin. Shamrock Rovers has been even more dominant in the FAI Cup winning the trophy on 24 separate occasions and have been runners-up eight times. The first cup victory came in 1925 when Rovers defeated fellow-Ringsend team Shelbourne 2-1 with goals from Bob Fullam and John Joe Flood. Rovers last won the FAI Cup final in 1987. Shamrock Rovers won the the Cup a record six times in a row from 1964 to 1969. |

Home match tickets are on sale in the stadium shop which is open from 1pm to 6pm from Tuesday to Saturday. On the day of matches tickets are sold from the mobile ticket office in the car park at Tallaght Stadium or buy Roverstickets online Ticket prices are as follows: Please note that prices may differ for Cup or friendly games. The Shamrock Rovers FC ticketing policy is to issue one third of all match tickets at concession prices (children, senior citizens and students). How to Get to Tallaght Stadium – Shamrock Rovers FC Football GroundTallaght Stadium is situated in Sean Walsh Memorial Park on the N81 dual carriageway and across from the Square Shopping Centre. Another notable landmark is the Maldron Hotel which is on the opposite corner on Whitestown Way. The N81 is off Junction 11 on the M50 motorway and follow sign posts for Tallaght / Blessington. Who Owns

Shamrock Rovers Football Club is owned by the fans. Following examinership the 400 Club assumed control of the club. This members club now has in excess of 500 members. A board, elected by the membership, runs the club with the best long term interests of the club and the fans. If you are fan of the club and want to have a say in the running of the club join Shamrock Rovers members club. |
